Since its launch, the Department of Sociology has been paying special attention to the use and the application of new technologies to various fields of Social Sciences, such as applied social research, use of the Internet, etc., researching and analyzing simultaneously new social issues as they arise in the everyday use of technology.

 

In the Department of Sociology, a Computer Lab operates, which can be used free of charge by the students of the Department and whose an additional objective is to support technologically the following areas of its action:

a. teaching and research work and activities;

b. organizing seminars, conferences and lectures;

c. providing administrative services; and

d. assisting in the general operation of the Department.

 

The Computer Lab is located in Room B.04 on the 2nd floor in the “Department of Marine Sciences” Building (University Hill or Xenia). It consists of 32 working stations (for students) and 3 working stations (for staff).

 


 

The Computer Lab is a certified Teacher Certification Centre under the programme "Teachers’ Training in how to use and apply ICT to the classroom" (Project: "Education and Lifelong Learning").

 


 

The users of the computer equipment of the Department of Sociology and those who have access accounts to the network of the University of the Aegean should be informed about of the Regulation of the Computer Laboratories (Computer Labs) Operation.
